Me, a born Indian . had my primary and secondary education in india. however had couple of internships abroad. so have spent at least more than 3 full years in switzerland, dubai and America. this is were the whole confusion starts. Although i m in love with my country and its tradition. there has come a time where my needs are questioning those beliefs and tradition. there are so many things ranging from arranged marriage, premarital sex to living single till 40 or living with parents or not? I am sure if not all at least some of you who have lived your life abroad do have these confusion. please feel free to post your comments and lets have an healthy blog.please feel free to write if u agree, vaguely agree or completely disagree?

What are people confused about? their origin..their individuality..today yougsters think about living with their parents or not...today i study about ethics in business..when we talk about ethics in business than dont u feel that there should be some ethics in life as well...we say that our upbringing was a duty of our parents but y do v forget about our duty towards them..it was a time when we needed them and in thier oldage they need us..i look stupid talking about this sitting thousands of miles away from my parents here in australia but m pretty sure as what i have to do...and i hope every parent whom i know get thier son or daughter taking care of them..
ReplyDeleteINDIA-> This word has given me more pride, than what it meant to me before coming to USA.
ReplyDeleteMumbai has so many people from different religion, different states, speaking different languages. But, USA is superset to Mumbai, it has ppl from all around the world, different religions, knowing different languages (but speaking English).
But, after coming to USA, ppl tend to forget their origin and get theirselves blend into American tradition.
I strongly oppose this change in ppl. Its true that USA is free country, u get chance to change yourself...but, it also doesnot punish you to follow what you have followed since years.
If you were a vegetarian in India, then you can remain vegeterian in USA too. Any modest American would not oppose or make fun of your values, if you also respected your traditions and values. If you did not consume alcohol then your american boss would not feel bad if you refuse the drink he offered you. In fact, he would be impressed to know that in such an alocoholic country you have managed to keep a good state of mind!!
Don't forget: DIL HAI HINDUSTANI
